Day by day, we can find better MLB moments in a league that always gives us wonderful plays and the opportunity for both players and teams to continue writing Major League history in one way or another. Such was the case this past day as we approach the All-Star Game break.

Here at JefeBet we do not miss anything, so we bring you a summary of the highlights that took place on July 13, 2022.

MLB Highlights: The Best of July 13, 2022

Orioles Stay on Fire and Make History

Perhaps this is rather odd to say, but the Orioles are currently the best team in all of MLB. The 7-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs marked their tenth consecutive win, which ties their fifth-longest winning streak in history in a single season.

In addition, they have now swept three consecutive series for the first time since May 2005, and they have put themselves in territory that has long been uncharted territory for the franchise: a record above .500 (45-44). Will they be able to maintain this momentum until the end of the season?

Never Underestimate the Power of the Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the first game of the series to the Cardinals by 6-7, and everything indicated that they would lose the second game as they started the seventh inning with a 0-6 deficit on the scoreboard.

However, the St. Louis reliever failed, so the Dodgers began to bat and entered the ninth inning with a one-run deficit (5-6). And, after a sacrifice fly by Max Muncy, Hanser Alberto orchestrated the comeback with a hit that drove Cody Bellinger home to repay the Cardinals after the first game of the series.

Cincinnati Reds’ Season Summarized in 17 Seconds

The Cincinnati Reds, the team with the third-worst record in MLB, were visiting the New York Yankees, the team with the best record in the Major Leagues. Despite the difference between the teams, the Reds held a 6-5 lead since the fifth inning, but allowed a run in the bottom of the eighth to force extra innings.

Action would not last long after that, as two consecutive wild pitches by Alexis Díaz in the tenth inning allowed DJ LeMahieu to cross the plate for a 6-7 win. Oh, and it was LeMahieu’s birthday, so he had more than one reason to celebrate that night.

Does Anyone Doubt Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s Strength?

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is regarded as one of the most powerful hitters in all of MLB for a reason, and today the Canadian with Dominican roots reminded us why.

The player made a rather awkward golf swing after a rather low pitch from Zack Wheeler, and somehow he put so much strength on the shot that the ball would end up leaving the field.

It marked his 20th homerun of the season, and it helped both sweep the Phillies to a 2-8 win and give interim manager John Schneider a victory in his first game in charge following the firing of Charlie Montoyo.

Josh Hader in Earthy Mode

Josh Hader, recognized as one of the best pitchers in MLB and as the best closer overall, is not untouchable, and this season has proven that –especially in this month of July.

Hader has allowed runs in four of his last five appearances on the mound, most recently allowing a three-run homerun in the Brewers’ 1-4 loss to the Minnesota Twins.

The hitter was José Miranda, who became the first Minnesota Twins rookie with two plate appearances that ended in a walk-off since Max Kepler did it in 2016.
