MLS Week 4 Ideal Team

MLS Week 4 featured good performances from the teams, but especially from several players who managed to make room for themselves in the ideal team of the week.

Audi introduced the MLS Week 4 team, which included a couple of elements from Charlotte FC, the franchise just entered the league, and in the same way they also presented several of those summoned by the United States and Canada National Teams. Charlotte FC earned its first MLS victory, beating the New England Revolution 3-1.

In that match the Polish striker Karol Swiderski showed off by scoring a couple of goals and also giving an assist for his teammate Bender Ben to score the last goal of the match. The good functioning of the team was thanks to the strategy of the Spanish coach Miguel Ramírez, and he was considered the best coach of Week 4 of the MLS.

FC Dallas forward Jesús Ferreira also had a dream performance in the 4-1 thrashing of the Portland Timbers, where he participated with all four goals, scoring three and providing the assist for the fourth. This led him to be named the MLS Player of the Week 4, days before joining the concentration of the United States National Team for the last three dates of the hexagonal final of Concacaf.

Ferreira isn’t the only USMNT pick to appear in the MLS Week 4 ideal XI, as Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Cristian Roldan is also included after he’s given an assist for the 1-1 draw against Austin FC. Nashville SC defender Walker Zimmerman is the third U.S. team to appear on the MLS Team of Week 4 after converting a headed goal in a 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake.

As for those included in the list of the Canadian National Team for this FIFA Date, Ismael Koné of CF Montreal was a fundamental part in the 3-3 draw against Atlanta United. In that match, the Canadian scored a goal and provided an assist.

The youngsters featured in the MLS Week 4 XI were Philadelphia Union defender Nathan Harriel, Toronto FC midfielder Luca Petrasso and FC Cincinnati forward Brandon Vázquez.

Harriel provided an assist and avoided a goal to help his team beat reigning MLS champions New York City FC 2-0. Petrasso participated in Toronto’s 2-1 win over D.C. United with two assists. Vázquez scored two goals for Cincinnati to beat Miami CF 3-1.

The other three elements of the ideal team are LAFC left back Ryan Hollingshead, Columbus Crew midfielder Darlington Nagbe and Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Zac MacMath.

Hollingshead scored two goals in a 3–1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, while Nagbe scored the 1–1 draw against the New York Red Bulls. As for MacMath, he jumped the chance to start in place of David Ochoa and made seven saves against Nashville.

This weekend there will be only three games in MLS, Charlotte FC vs Cincinnati and Sporting KC vs Real Salt Lake, will be played on Saturday 26, while Timbers vs Orlando City will be played on Sunday 27. After the MARCH FIFA Date, MLS clubs will resume normal activity from April 2.
