NBA Finals Game 1: highlights of the 2022 NBA Final

Stephen Curry had a perfect start to the 2022 NBA Finals

Even though Golden State blew a big fourth-quarter lead to fall 0-1 in the series, Curry didn’t go unnoticed in the game, as he had a strong performance that unfortunaly did not manage to avoid a tough loss.

The “Chef” fried the Celtics’ defense from the first quarter on, the same defense that had no response to his long-range jumpers

nor to his throws into the hoop, achieved of course due to his unique ability with the ball.

In the end, his 34 points were the fifth-highest figure of his career in a final series.

After a very close first half, in which Boston went up by two points at halftime, the Warriors entered the third quarter fast like a bullet, trying to stop any surprise attempt by the visitors.

However, throughout the entire postseason, Boston has shown a great willingness to come from behind and not give up after a negative moment. This is something that was clearly seen in the last period of Thursday’s match in the NBA Finals.

Who were the great architects of this comeback? Well, of course there was a commendable defensive team effort, but with outstanding offensive work from three names: Derrick White, Jayson Tatum and the man of the night, Al Horford.

In addition to his 21 points, White made his NBA Finals debut with a great shot that tied the game in the fourth period.

Tatum, for his part, despite only scoring 12 points, had a terrific defensive performance in his nearly 42 minutes on the field, becoming the player with the most assists (13) in his NBA Finals debut.

While Horford became the second-oldest player (35 years and 364 days) to score at least 25 points in his NBA Finals debut.

The triples were also protagonists of the first clash

While we expected nothing less from the Warriors than a 3-point festival, the Celtics didn’t want to be left behind for the party and turned the first game of the 2022 NBA Finals into a true long-distance show.

Especially Boston, which finished with a number of firsts thanks to its 21 three-pointers at the Chase Center.

Without a doubt, a fantastic taste of what is expected to be an exciting final series between two famous NBA teams that have earned their place here. Be Celtics vs Warriors or Warriors vs Celtics, everything promises that this will be an excellent series and an unforgettable 2022 NBA Finals.
