The Denver Nuggets are celebrating thanks to the second consecutive Most Valuable Player award won by their organization’s stellar center, Nikola Jokić. That’s a recognition that cannot go under the table and be celebrated in style.
So, as a fitting start to the celebration, the Nuggets’ top brass gathered Jokić’s entire family together and gave him a big surprise at his stable in Serbia, where the 27-year-old is spending a few days off before returning to training for next season.
Like everything about Nikola Jokić, the image is surreal, funny, and wonderful. He is surprised by coach Mike Malone, team president Josh Kroenke and Nuggets president of operations Tim Connelly as he arrives in the back of a wagon after taking a long ride around his barn.
Excited by the event, Jokić gives us another unforgettable moment in his career by bursting into tears of joy. Proving that there is not only an outstanding basketball talent, but also a lot of love, affection, and feeling inside that 2.11 centimeters physique.
On Wednesday afternoon, the league confirmed Jokić as NBA MVP for the 2021-2022 campaign after defeating Joel Embiid for the second consecutive season. Jokić also guided the Nuggets to the postseason despite the absence of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. first player in league history to score at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season.
