Betting on the Denver Nuggets
- Regular Season Record: 53-29
Jamal Murray has been unbelievable in this series. After scoring 37 points in Game 2, Murray erupted for 37 points again in Denver’s 119-108 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 on Saturday. Murray is averaging 35.0 points per game so far in the 2023 NBA Western Conference Finals, and he can be expected to keep bending the Lakers’ defense in Game 4.
Nikola Jokic did have a subpar performance (by his lofty standards) in Game 3, but he is still putting up 27.0 points on 52.6 percent shooting from the field in the series. With Murray and Jokic playing great music together along with the Nuggets’ supporting cast featuring the likes of Bruce Brown and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, it’s been made very clear that the Nuggets, who are 4-1 against the spread in their five games after a win of more than 10 points, are the better team than the Lakers.
Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers
- Regular Season Record: 43-39
The odds are so stacked against the Lakers winning the series. They are now down three games to none and have been soundly beaten in each of the first three contests of the 2023 NBA Western Conference Finals. Then again, it’s not over until it’s over. Winning the series is something that appears to be close to impossible, but winning Game 4 is a whole lot more attainable at this moment for Los Angeles, which got 28 points and 18 rebounds from Anthony Davis in Game 3.
LeBron James and Austin Reaves each had 23 points, while Rui Hachimura provided 13 points off the bench. Lakers head coach has a decision to make on D’Angelo Russell, who could get benched in Game 4 in favor of another player with more use. Russell started Game 3 but repaid Ham’s trust in him with just three points on a poor 1/8 shooting from the field. The Lakers are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games after a loss of more than 10 points.
JefeBet Prediction
The Lakers will prevent a sweep and score a series-extending victory in Game 4.
