Betting on the San Diego Padres (+130)
Seth Lugo will be toeing the rubber for this game for the Padres, who pulled off a 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels at home in his most recent start. In that contest, Lugo tossed six innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts, and while he settled for a no-decision there, he did manage to lower his season ERA from 3.59 to 3.39. Lugo has won has not won a game since early May, though, it’s mostly not his fault. He is 0-1 with a 2.92 ERA in his last four starts.
Offensively, Juan Soto’s eyes should light up when he sees Phillies starter Zack Wheeler on the mound. Soto has a career batting average of .279 with three home runs and 12 walks across 43 at-bats versus Wheeler.

Zack Wheeler has not been faring great of late, but the Phillies are winning nonetheless whenever he’s on the mound, and that’s what matters when it’s all said and done. The Phillies are 6-0 in Wheeler’s last six starts, during which he has allowed at least three earned runs in three separate occasions. Wheeler has given up seven earned runs on 14 hits across 11.0 innings in his last two starts. He is also getting decent run support from the Phillies, who are supplying him with 5.52 runs per nine innings.
Bryce Harper has not been hitting plenty of long bombs this season but he could have success versus Lugo. Harper is 7-for-21 with two home runs, four RBIs, and four walks against Lugo in his career. There’s also J.T. Realmuto, who is 5-for-22 all-time against Lugo.
