Meet the most dramatic footballers who are active today. They are recognized for being good at what they do, but sometimes they make us think that if they were to dedicate themselves to acting, they would also do quite well.
Several of these soccer players could undoubtedly shine in Hollywood, and not only that, but they would be worthy nominees for an Oscar for their abilities in the art of deception.
In addition to being noted for their skills when they have the ball at their feet, they stand out for putting their teeth into saving the day, or simply when they want the referee to benefit them in some way.
There are several that surely come to mind at this time, let’s see if we agree.
1.- Neymar
The Brazilian striker, Neymar, is worthy of first place on this list. From a very young age, he has amazed us with his football, but we have also realized that drama is his second most latent passion.
He falls in the area to fool the referee, although in fact he falls anywhere on the field just to destabilize the rival, and so he has been the protagonist of several memes.
2.- David Luiz
The Brazilian defender, David Luiz, has been responsible for injuries to opposing players, and perhaps many of us know him as a strong and tough player, but he also lends himself to being considered one of football’s drama queens.
For example, let’s remember when he played for Chelsea and faked a foul in a game against Manchester United, moments after suffering from pain, he flashed a smile that was caught on camera, and it was clear he was just acting. Not even Leonardo Di Caprio has those performances.
3.- Arjen Robben
Eight years have passed since the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but in the memory of Mexicans there is still a situation that to date causes a lot of resentment towards the Dutch, but especially towards Arjen Robben.
Robben must be the player most hated by the Aztec fans after he faked a foul in the area so that the referee awarded him a penalty in the final stretch of the round of the match, where the Clockwork Orange finally won by 2-1. A great master of drama, since it is not the only dubious play that he starred in his career.
4.- Sergio Busquets
The Spanish midfielder, Sergio Busquets, who plays for FC Barcelona, is one of the most discreet players in all aspects. For a long time he was key in the midfield of the team, where he distributed plays and never hogged the spotlight so much. However, in 2010 he starred in a moment that is popularly remembered.
In a match against Inter Milan, Busi ‘fell’ in the field after suffering a blow to the face from the rival. He lied down for several seconds, and apparently in pain, but the surprise was that when the cameras focused on him, the player was uncovering his eyes to see if he had deceived the referee.
5.- Ángel Di María
The last among the most dramatic footballers is the Argentine Ángel Di María. It is very likely that he is not as a theatrical player as the previous ones, for the simple reason that he does not fake injuries, but actually gets injured in important games. Instead of drama, it seems karma.
His physical complexion facilitates that his rivals can easily knock him down and cause severe damage.
The most recent drama was experienced in the Copa América, it seemed that the player was about to leave with an ankle injury, but refused to leave the pitch. That night, he became the protagonist by scoring the goal with which Argentina won the title of Champion of America.
