Tom Brady continues to prepare his life after football without having retired from the gridiron yet.

As revealed exclusively by Variety.com, the current quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will produce a new series with Netflix in which he will participate in his own “roast”.

“We can’t wait to burn three-time Super Bowl-losing quarterback Tom Brady, who only went back to the NFL in order to delay this roast. In all seriousness, it’s a huge thrill to work with the greatest football player of all time on this project. No one’s better at taking hits and still coming out on top, so we know the roast will be a breeze for Brady.”

Robbie Praw, Netflix’s Vice President of Stand-up and Comedy Formats

This participation in his own series is another of the challenges that the quarterback, who will play his 23rd season in the NFL after retiring a month during the preseason, intends to continue shaping his life after his successful American football career.

The 44-year-old is also scheduled to appear in the 2022 edition of The Match alongside Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen on June 1. While last week it became known that he will join FOX Sports, as the main analyst of the NFL, in a contract of 10 years and 375 million dollars that will take effect once he retires as an active player.

What are the Roasts in which Tom Brady will Participate?

Basically, a roast is a space within comedy that seeks to honor a specific person uniquely. In addition to jokes and comedic insults, these events can also include praise and tributes to that person. In this case, Brady.

As Robbie Paw commented, to Variety.com, Tom Brady would be “roasted” for being a field quarterback who has failed by losing three Super Bowls during his long career and will be the first of a series of chapters with different characters that will be known as “GROAT” (Greatest Roast of All Time), word play of the popular phrase “GOAT” (Greatest of All time).

For his part, Brady seems to be already involved in the series that will begin filming in 2023 by using a historic phrase by Marshawn Lynch: “I’m here and they can’t fine me.”
