Lionel Messi was the author of the five goals with which the Argentine National Team beat Estonia in the friendly match this Sunday, June 5.
The Argentine star Lionel Messi never ceases to amaze us. This Sunday, for the first time in history, he scored five goals wearing the Albiceleste jersey: although in the friendly match there was nothing at stake, with those goals, he put his name back in the history books of the Argentine National Team by becoming the third player to score five goals in the same game.
Juan Andrés Marvezzi and José Manuel Moreno were the other two players who had the honor before Messi of being present on the scoreboard five times in the same match.
On February 16, 1941, Marvezzi scored five goals against Ecuador in a 6-1 win for the Copa América, and on January 22, 1942, Moreno did the same against the same rival in a 12-0 win, also for the Copa América. That means that 80 years passed for a single player of the Argentine national team to achieve that feat, and of course it could not be other than the man who has broken so many records throughout his career. In addition to this, Messi is the first player of the Argentine National Team to score five goals against a European rival.

Messi opened the scoring at minute 8 after a penalty was scored favoring Argentina.
At minute 44, he made it 2-0 on the scoreboard after receiving a pass entering the area from the side and leaving the rivals on the way.
The third came moments after starting the second half of the match, after a great collective move led by Lionel Scaloni.
The fourth entry of “La Pulga” took place at minute 71, when he took the ball and run towards the area, and when he was in front of the goalkeeper and a defender he made a cut and shot at the goal.
And to complete the 5-0 win, at minute 76 after a series of rebounds in the area, the ball fell to “10” who took a low shot.
With the five goals he scored against Estonia, the “10” reached 86 goals in 163 games played with the Argentine National Team. “La Albiceleste” will return to action next September to play the pending match with Brazil, but for now they remain undefeated in 33 games.
