Mike Tyson is not known for his patience, and he demonstrated that things have not changed for him when, on April 20, he punched a passenger on the same plane after he insisted on talking to him. We have some fresh news in this regard.
The former boxing champion, Mike Tyson was always known for his extreme rudeness in the boxing ring, and while you might think that after his retirement he would no longer need to use his fists, you’d be wrong.
When he boarded a plane in California bound for Florida last month, he was involved in a violent altercation with a passenger, who was quite insistent on getting his attention and the only thing he got was that the former boxer hit him.
After further investigation, California District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe announced in a statement that Mike Tyson will not face any charges for punching the subject. The statement explained that the decision was made after analyzing the “circumstances” with the videos that were presented. He also assured that several aspects were reviewed:
“The conduct of the victim leading up to the incident, the interaction between Mr. Tyson and the victim, as well as the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson.”
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Wagstaffe said:
“This case doesn’t belong in criminal justice. If the parties want to file a civil suit, that can still happen irrespective of this decision.”
On this occasion he was saved by the bell.
What Sparked Mike Tyson’s Rage?
We know that nothing justifies the 55-year-old former boxing champion’s violence, but we can tell that the passenger was looking to get on Mike Tyson’s nerves.
In fact, Mike Tyson’s lawyer said that the alleged “victim,” had bothered Tyson several times before the incident, and that he also threw a water bottle at him.
Let’s hope that after what happened, no one else will even consider speaking to Mike Tyson, much less throwing objects at him. The boxing legend last fought as a professional in 2005 against Kevin McBride and in 2020, he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition duel, but now we know he still has arm power and will use that strength where he needs it.
