Día de los Muertos Harvest Luncheon
The Northeast Earth Coalition is a group that focuses on protecting the environment and promoting local sustainability, as well as food safety. This event is intended to honor an ancient Mexican tradition that is related to the migration of the Monarch Butterfly. Here, authentic Mexican food and refreshments will be served.

Día de los Muertos at Langston Hughes Library
The Langston Hughes Library will be celebrating and honoring this special date by making offerings and decorating an altar for those who are no longer here. Flowers and photographs of the lost ones may be brought and attached to the altar.
This event aims to look at death from another perspective, remembering the loved ones who have passed away with joy in a space dedicated to the Latino community. In addition, there will be a presentation by the Cetiliztli dance group, which brings together details of Mayan culture.
This commemoration will be held on November 2 from 2 to 6 pm at Langston Hughes Library, 100-01 Northern Blvd, Corona, NY 11368. Obtain your ticket.
Masks at the Mountain Lakes Public Library
On the other hand, the Mountain Lakes Public Library will hold a gathering where handmade masks will be made to celebrate this date. It is ideal to come accompanied by friend and family, as well as to get closer to the other people who will celebrate the Día de los Muertos, and, in that way, strengthen the community that lives in the area.
It is not necessary for you to bring materials, and you are free to make the ideas you already have in mind. However, if you are not very creative, there will be templates available to help you.
This will be on Wednesday, November 2 from 3 to 5 pm at the Mountain Lakes Public Library, 9 Elm Road Mountain Lakes. Admission is free, but you can set aside your spot here.
Día de los Muertos Week at Time Out Market
The Time Out Market will have a full week of Día de los Muertos commemorations that will feature all kinds of activities. To kick things off, on Friday there will be live music and cocktails; on Saturday there will be a costume party, photo booths and limited edition cocktails served; then, on Sunday, there will be mini pumpkin painting activity and a costume party. Finally, on November 1 and 2, the week will close with an incredible party and tarot reading.

Celebration at Rockefeller Center
Finally, we have the most impressive event for this date, as for the second year, the Rockefeller Center will celebrate the Día de los Muertos and honor Mexican culture and heritage. This will be a free event where there will be food, music and educational spaces about the culture of this country.
The event is organized by the Consulate General of Mexico in New York City, the Mexican Cultural Institute, the Museum of Modern Art and Rockefeller Center, who made an altar available for people to contribute and observe. Read more in this article.
