Dia de los Muertos in Los Angeles is recognized as one of the largest celebrations in the United States. This is a very important day, particularly for Mexicans, because it commemorates a day in which we remember loved ones who have died and that for one day only return to be among us.

This Día de los Muertos at the Glendale Central Library will feature live performances by Ballet Folklorico Mexico Azteca Music with Sara, Mariachi Arcoiris de Los Angeles and the Miramonte Elementary children’s rock band. Moreover, they will have a shrine to which you can contribute images of your deceased loved ones. As the event organizers say: “Families bring offerings to honor and welcome their dearly departed family members”.

On the other hand, at West Covina Plaza there will be activities for children, adults and the entire family for Día de los Muertos. This will be an event where individuals dressed up can compete for the best costume, see a live mariachi folklorico act, and eat sweets from a station specifically set up to collect them.

If, on the other hand, food is your thing, we invite you to an event hosted by Chef Michelle and Company, where, as they say, “food and community meet.” This Dia de los Muertos celebration will feature live music and the chance to have your face painted by resident artists. Additionally, you will be able to bring a photo of your loved ones for the shrine.

The event is zero-waste, and the food is provided by local farmers. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity on Tuesday, November 1 from 6pm to 10pm at Crafted Kitchen, located at 672 S Santa Fe Ave. The admission charge is 125 USD, and you can get your ticket here.

Finally, Self Help Graphics & Art will have a Dia de los Muertos celebration featuring live performances by DJs LABellatini and VFresh, plus, Brainstory, Spaghetti Cumbia, La Mera Candelaria and more. This is a market where artisans, artists, engravers, and designers will sell their products. If you get hungry, there will be plenty of street food available.

Organizers are encourageing the community to dress up in their favorite Dia de los Muertos costume and join a community parade led by local Aztec dancers from Mariachi Plaza to Self Help Graphics at 4:00 p.m. (you should arrive by 3:30 p.m.).
