Andy Ruiz Jr.’s return to the ring is now confirmed. The former World Boxing Association heavyweight champion will face Luis Ortiz on August 13 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, according to information provided by ESPN.
The details of the fight organized by Premier Boxing Champions were announced by Ruiz’s father during an interview with the aforementioned media outlet.
“My son is going to shut the mouth of the one who dared to call him a coward.” said Mr. Andres Ruiz Sr. about the bout that serves as his son’s return to action following his unanimous decision win over Chris Arreola in May 2021.
Regarding the motivation Ruiz is feeling right now, his father said: “Andy is very motivated: he is ready to show the world that he belongs to the heavyweight elite and that he doesn’t fear anyone”.
