However, they were one of the unlucky teams to face the Los Angeles Rams, who eventually became the Super Bowl champions. The Cardinals lost that game 34-11.
Out of the three games the Cardinals played in the preseason, they could only manage one win, which was a 23-36 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. In terms of offense, they performed well, scoring points in every game, but closed with two straight losses to the Baltimore Ravens by 17-24 and to the Tennessee Titans by 26-23.

The Kansas City Chiefs accomplished part of the goal in the 2021 season, as they finished the regular season in first place in the AFC West with a 12-5 record and reached the postseason. In the wild card round, they defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 42-21, and were crowned in the divisional round with a 42-36 win over the Buffalo Bills.
However, they failed to make it to the Super Bowl again as they were beaten 24-27 by the Cincinnati Bengals in the Conference Final.
The team suffered significant losses during the off-season, but despite this, not much difference was seen in the pre-season games played last August. They started with a 19-14 loss to the Chicago Bears and finished with two straight wins, 24-14 against the Washington Commanders and 17-10 against the Green Bay Packers.
