Although the Falcons’ chances this season are slim, the team started the preseason very well with their starting quarterback, Marcus Mariota, playing an offensive series and being replaced, in a great way, by Desmond Ridder, who ended up leading the win.
But while things went well on offense, the doubts generated by the defense came to light during the first game. Atlanta allowed almost 400 total yards and, if it weren’t for the two turnovers they forced, the result probably wouldn’t have been positive.
Against the Jets it seems to be a good matchup to make adjustments since they won’t have to face Zach Wilson as the opposing quarterback.

Within the black clouds, the Jets can breathe easy after learning that Wilson’s injury was not a torn knee ligament, and that, after surgery, he could return during the first few weeks of the preseason.
As a result, the experienced Joe Flacco is expected to take control of the Jets’ offense in the early going, and while these types of players usually don’t see action in the preseason, he could play a few offensive series against Atlanta to get warmed up.
The game against the Eagles was fairly even and their defense performed well in allowing 311 total yards and 21 points. Undoubtedly, they have a performance that could improve against a Falcons team that also generates many doubts this season.
