Max Verstappen (-330 on DraftKings)
Another race, another win for Max Verstappen, who added to his season total with a victory at the 2023 Rolex Austrian GP over the weekend. That’s Verstappen’s seventh win of the season and one that netted him 34 more points to boost his total to 229 points. The win in Austria was just another proof that Verstappen is in a class of his own this year, even winning the pole position for that race. It’s probably safe to say that the world driver’s championship this year is for him to lose, considering the success he’s been having on an almost weekly basis.
Sergio Perez (+700 on DraftKings)
Although he was not able to win in Austria, it was not too shabby of a weekend for Perez. After all, he still managed to secure 22 points thanks to his third-place finish. It was Perez’s first podium finish since placing second back in early May in Miami. If anything, it’s a great sign for Perez and Red Bull that he appears to have recovered his mojo. Also remember that Perez already has two wins this season, as he topped the field at the STC Saudi Arabian GP back in March and the Azerbaijan GP in Baku last April.
Lewis Hamilton (+1200 on DraftKings)
After back-to-back top 3s with a runner-finish at the AWS Spanish GP and a third-place at the Pirelli Canadian GP, Hamilton seemed to have his momentum spoiled in Austria, as he ended up eight at the Rolex Austrian GP. That being said, the seven-time world champion will always demand attention, including in the lead up to the to the race at Silverstone Circuit. Hamilton has won three of the last four editions of the British Grand Prix.
Sleeper Picks
Lando Norris (Odds +13000 on DraftKings)
Norris settled for the fourth spot when it was all said and done in Austria. While that’s not enough for a podium appearance, that was still Norris’ best finish of the year, topping his sixth place at the Rolex Australian GP last April. Norris has a career podium percentage of 6.6%.
Lance Stroll (+15000 on DraftKings)
Stroll got seven points with his Aston Martin in Austria after finishing the race in the ninth position. He also took ninth in the previous race at Pirelli Canadian GP. On the season, Stroll is eighth with 44 points, and he will look to come up with a more impressive performance this coming weekend. Dark Horse
Nico Hulkenberg (+70000 on DraftKings)
Hulkenberg is still winless in his F1 career. He also has zero podium finishes and only one pole position win, which he got way back in 2010. He had a DNF in Austria.
El Jefe’s Prediction on 2023 British Grand Prix
There is no safer prediction here than Max Verstappen, who’s been on a steady diet of victories this season.
