This time the Astros’ starter will be Lance McCullers Jr, who will be making his second start of the postseason, and although the first one against Seattle was quite good, in the second he allowed 8 hits and 3 clean runs in 5.0 innings against the Yankees, and he will face a great lineup again.

The Philadelphia Phillies pulled off an epic comeback in Game 1 and continued to show the great spirit this team has had throughout the postseason, but fell short of repeating it in Game 2 after Kyle Schwarber had what appeared to be a home run in the eighth inning that would close the gap only to come up just short on his second attempt.
Once again the Philadelphia bullpen proved to be their best weapon, as the team allowed no runs after the departure of starter Zack Wheeler (5.0 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 K), and this time it will be Noah Syndergaard’s turn to start, in what will presumably be a game where the Phillies will use their bullpen since “Thor” has not pitched more than 3.0 innings in a postseason appearance.

If what Philadelphia manager Rob Thompson has planned for this game is to use his bullpen heavily and have Syndergaard as an “opener” – a role he has had previously in this postseason – it may work out quite well.
Of the 10 runs the Phillies have allowed in this World Series, 9 have come from their starters, and the other was a fielding error. On the other hand, Lance McCullers Jr. failed to prevail against the Yankees lineup in their last appearanceand will once again face a team with great offensive power that could punish them.
We consider that this Game 3 could go to the home team, and we also bring to the table the fact that Phillies remain undefeated at home this postseason.And while Houston could break that streak at some point in the series, we don’t think this will be the occasion.
