The Angels will have Reid Detmers pitching for their penultimate game of the first half of the season. Detmers is feeling good after a quality performance in his most recent start in which he allowed just two earned runs on three hits in 6.0 innings of a 5-2 victory at home over the Arizona Diamondbacks. That makes it two wins in a row for the Angels when Detmers starts.
Detmers has gradually lowered his ERA in each of his last five starts and will be heading to this game Saturday night carrying a 2-0 record with a 1.42 ERA over that stretch. Although he is winless this season in road starts thus far, Detmers looked fine in his last appearance away from Anaheim, surrendering only an earned run on three this with eight strikeouts in a 6-3 loss in Arlington to the division-leading Texas Rangers on June 14.

Against the Pirates, Grove allowed just a run on five hits, albeit in only four innings of a 5-2 win by the Dodgers, who also have the offense to pose a big threat to Detmers.
Mookie Betts has hit .341 with six home runs and 14 RBI in his last 13 games. David Peralta has slashed .326/.362/.512 in that same span, while former National League Most Valuable Player Freddie Freeman has put together a .320/.346/.520 triple slash line in his last six games.
