Betting on the Oakland Athletics (+225)
The Athletics hopes that JP Sears will bring his A-game against the Dodgers later tonight. Oakland, which has lost six of their last eight games, won the last time Sears took to the mound. That was in an 8-5 victory on the road against the Colorado Rockies at the hitter-friendly Coors Field on July 28. In that game, Sears allowed just an earned run on four hits with five strikeouts in 5.0 inning of work. Sears hasn’t also looked too shabby when pitching in enemy territory. While he’s just 2-4 in 12 road starts this year, he’s got a 3.84 ERA in those contests.
The Athletics’ offense can also keep their hope alive that it will be able to solve Julio Urias. The Dodgers starter has been pitching poorly of late, having given up 11 earned runs in his last two starts (11.0 innings).

The Dodgers are rolling. Well, most teams could actually do exceptionally well in a series against the lowly Athletics. Through two games in this series, the Dodgers have outscored Oakland, 17-4. They crushed the A’s Wednesday night to the tune of a 10-1 score. Amed Rosario, a trade deadline acquisition of the Dodgers, is having a great time in Hollywood. He just went 2-for-4 with a home run Wednesday and is 5-for-13 in four games since the trade that brought him to the National League West division.
Urias will be stepping on the mound in this series finale with full belief that the Dodgers’ offense can provide him enough run support. It shouldn’t be too hard for him to dominate Oakland, though. The A’s are last in the majors in runs and batting average.
