Betting on the Toronto Blue Jays (+120)
The Blue Jays took a painful punch in the gut in Tuesday’s 8-7 loss to the Dodgers, btu they will have to move on. Looking to help them recover right away is Yusei Kikuchi, who’s looked pretty solid of late. Kikuchi has surrendered just an earned run total on seven hits with 12 strikeouts in his last two starts, spanning 10.0 innings.
In his last road start, which was also his most recent one overall, Kikuchi held the Seattle Mariners scoreless for 5.1 innings while recording eight punchouts, albeit in a 3-2 road loss last Friday. Meanwhile, Alejandro Kirk will look to stay hot. He’s hit .474 with a home run and three RBIs in the last seven Toronto games.
Starting pitcher: Yusei Kikuchi((7-3, 3.92 ERA)
Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (-140)
After a thrilling win over Toronto, the Dodgers will be giving the ball to Tony Gonsolin for the series finale later tonight. Although Gonsolin hasn’t been steady of late, allowing at least four earned runs in five of his last six starts, the Dodgers still have gone 3-3 in those games. In fact, they have gone 3-0 in Gonsolin’s last three starts.
Despite his recent struggles, there’s a reason to believe that Gonsolin will get it together on the mound this Wednesday. For one, the current Blue Jays roster only has a career batting average of .176 with a .288 wOBA against him. Meanwhile, Freddie Freemam and JD Martinez can provide the offense for the Doders as they are each batting over .333 since the All-Star break.
Starting pitcher: Tony Gonsolin (5-3, 3.94 ERA)
