Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (+115)
The Dodgers snapped their three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over the Angels Tuesday night. Clayton Kershaw was pitched a fantastic game in the series opener, and while he had a performance that is tough to follow, Michael Grove will still try to be just as effective, as he is expected to make the start this Wednesday.
That’s going to be easier said than done especially since Grove has struggled on the mound all season long, but the Dodgers won in his most recent start last Thursday against the Chicago White Sox at home, 5-4. J.D. Martinez must be feeling confident in his chances against Shohei Ohtani, as he is 3-for-9 with two doubles in his career against the Japanese superstar. Mookie Betts only has an at-bat so far in his career against Ohtani, but that resulted in a home run. He had a walk in another plate appearance versus Ohtani.

The Angels have just the perfect pitching weapon to try and lead them back to their winning ways after Tuesday’s loss to the Dodgers. With Ohtani on the mound later tonight, the Halos have a big reason to believe that they won’t suffer back-to-back losses to the Dodgers. For one, the Angels are 7-0 in their last seven games this season in which Ohtani started following a loss.
And then, of course, there’s the fact that Ohtani is really just a brilliant pitcher. Ohtani has not had his A-game on the mound over his past few starts, but he is still sporting a 1.05 WHIP. Moreover, he is 3-1 with a 2.66 ERA and a .158 opponents batting average in his seven home starts to date this season. After getting blanked by Kershaw, the Angels will be happy to see Grove on the mound. Grove has allowed 12 runs in 14.0 innings this June.

Michael Grove is not Clayton Kershaw, so I expect the Angels to show up with a livelier offense this Wednesday. Ohtani, meanwhile, will take care of business on the mound against the Dodgers, who are hitting just .229 in road games this year.
