The Dodgers are going to give Bobby Miller a go for this matchup versus the Mets. Miller is riding on some momentum, as he picked up a win in his last start when he allowed four earned runs on five hits in 5.2 innings of a 6-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at home just before the All-Star break. While the runs he allowed were not an encouraging sign for him, he did strike out seven Pirates hitters.
He is also undefeated so far in road starts this season, going 3-0 with just four earned runs on 12 hits with 16 strikeouts in 16.2 total innings of work away from Dodger Stadium. Some of the Dodgers hitters with good potential to get the better of Mets ace Max Scherzer are Max Muncy and David Peralta, who are a combined 10-of-37 against Mad Max.

Scherzer is aching to get back on the field and atone himself over a poor showing in his last start. He allowed five earned runs with three walks and six hits surrendered in just 5.0 innings of a 6-2 road loss to the San Diego Padres on July 9. Scherzer is Scherzer, though, which means he can easily churn out a magnificent performance on the mound regardless of how well he did a start before.
Scherzer has allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of his last five starts and is 2-0 with a 2.96 ERA in five home starts this season. It is of course worth mentioning that Scherzer had a great game going for him when he got tossed against from a road start against the Dodgers last April. In three innings of that game, he gave up zero runs and just a hit with three strikeouts before his ejection that ultimately did not matter because the Mets still won, 5-3.
