Betting on the Los Angeles Dodgers (-110)
As expected, the Dodgers steamrolled the lowly Oakland Athletics, sweeping the A’s in a three-game series that ended in an 8-2 victory for Los Angeles Thursday night. The Dodgers outscored Oakland in that series by a wide margin, 25-6. Their bats are hot and their pitching has looked stable of late, so they will look to bring that form over into a new series, this time versus San Diego.
On the mound for the Dodgers later tonight will be Bobby Miller, who picked up a loss in his last start, allowing three earned runs on six hits in five innings of work in a 6-5 defeat at home at the hands of the Cincinnati Reds last Friday. The good news for the Dodgers is that Miller is 4-0 with a 2.63 ERA in five starts away from home so far in the 2023 MLB regular season.

Betting on the San Diego Padres (-110)
The Padres are also in fine form as of late. They just demolished the Colorado Rockies in an 11-1 victory at Coors Field to win the three-game series. After losing the series opener, 4-3, the Padres took the next two by a combined score of 17-6.
Ha-Seong Kim and Juan Soto have been stellar at the plate over the last several games of the Padres. Kim has hit .429 with four home runs along with 12 walks in his last 54 plate appearances. Soto, on the other hand, hit .370 with six home runs, 16 RBIS, and nine walks in his last 54 plate appearances as well. That should bring a smile to the face of Yu Darvish, who hopes to get ample scoring support. Darvish is coming off a sensational start in a 4-0 win against the Texas Rangers last Saturday, allowing zero earned runs and only three hits with nine strikeouts in 6.0 innings.

These are two teams in a groove offensively, so it likely will go down as to which one will have better pitching. With that said, I’m going with Darvish to outduel Miller and with the Padres to win this game.
