The Dodgers have Bobby Miller as the tentative starter for this game. Miller exited the mound in his last start, which was against the New York Mets in Queens last Sunday, due to a knee issue, but there’s a chance he gets to start this Saturday. Against the Mets, Miller tossed for 4.2 innings and surrendered just an earned run on three hits with five strikeouts. So far this July, Miller is 1-0 with five earned runs on eight hits across 10.1 innings. The Dodgers have won in three of his last four starts.
Behind Miller is the Dodgers’ offense that has some pretty encouraging numbers, albeit on a small sample size, against Texas starter Dane Dunning. Los Angeles’ current roster is 4-for-13 with a double (JD Martinez) and a home run (Mookie Betts) against the Rangers pitcher.

Dunning is ready for the Dodgers. He rebounded from a poor performance in a 7-2 loss to the Washington Nationals on the road on July 9 by taking care of business on the mound last Monday in a 3-2 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays at home.
Versus the Rays, Dunning surrendered just two earned runs on five hits in seven innings. He has pitched for at least 6.0 innings in four of his last seven starts, and his ability to keep his pitch count relatively low while going long on the mound is a big plus for the Rangers, who also have among the best offenses in the majors today. They rank inside the top five in batting average, runs per game, and hits per contest.
