During the preseason, the Marlins reinforced their batting lineup with the acquisition of American League batting champion, Luis Arraez, and ultimately decided to keep Cuban slugger Yuli Gurriel after an impressive performance in spring training.
Power is expected to come from Garrett Cooper, alongside Avisail Garcia and Jorge Soler, while the speed and agility will be led by the swift Jazz Chisholm Jr.
The pitching staff took a hit with the departure of Pablo Lopez, who was traded to the Twins in exchange for Arraez, but Miami still boasts the reigning Cy Young winner from last season, Sandy Alcantara.
The rotation is completed by Jesus Luzardo, Trevor Rogers, Johnny Cueto, and Edward Cabrera, while Dylan Floro, A.J. Puk, and Matt Barnes will be tasked with closing out games.
