Now, San Diego will give the ball to one of the hottest hurlers of late in the majors in the form of Michael Wacha. The veteran has been so dependable in his last several starts for the Padres.
He is 2-1 with a 1.04 ERA in three starts so far in the month of June. He has also allowed zero earned runs in four of his last six starts, in each of which he tossed for at least 4.2 innings. On offense, the Padres know it can always count on Fernando Tatis Jr., who has hit .383 with three home runs and seven RBI in his last 13 games. San Diego has had the number of the Giants in the last several meetings against San Francisco, with the Padres winning nine of the last 10 showdowns.

Lamonte Wade and Brandon Crawford are hoping they continue to swing their bats well in the series opener against the Padres. Wade has hit .333 with seven RBI in his last 21 at-bats, while Crawford has slashed .450/.500/.500 in his last 20 at-bats with five RBI. On the mound for the Giants will be Ryan Walker to start the game. He’s operated out of the bullpen this season but gets the nod to kick things off for San Francisco.
