His ability to go beyond the fifth inning and do it with dominance is what makes him the leading contender to top the category. So, if you’re betting on baseball, it’s a safe bet to put your money on this guy.
Justin Verlander (+1400) | New York Mets
Last season, Justin Verlander proved that even at 39 years old, he still has plenty of quality and strength in his arm. That’s why he won the American League Cy Young with some seriously impressive numbers.
Now, in his first appearance in the National League after signing with the Mets, the right-hander will be looking to keep winning games just like he did last year, when he led the junior circuit with 18 victories. And let’s not forget that Verlander was the wins leader in 2009 with 19, 24 in 2011, and a total of 21 in 2019.
Max Fried (+1500) | Atlanta Braves
For the past five seasons, Fried has been one of the top winning pitchers in all of baseball, and as the ace of the Braves, that’s not expected to change in 2023. In his first full season in 2019, Fried racked up 17 victories. Then in 2020, he finished with a perfect 7-0 record in 11 starts. Over the last two years, he’s won 14 games each season. That’s some serious talent on the mound!

Julio Urías (+1500) | Los Angeles Dodgers
The Mexican pitcher is one of the key players in the Dodgers’ rotation this season after establishing himself as a Major Leaguer with two impressive seasons on the mound.
Urías was the MLB’s wins leader in 2021 with 20 victories, and he added 17 more to his record the previous year. Over these two seasons, he made over 30 starts and pitched at least 175 innings with an ERA below 3.00.
Shane McClanahan (+1500) | Tampa Bay Rays
McClanahan is one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, but there’s some doubt about how many wins he’ll be able to rack up due to his injury-proneness and the uncertainty of the Rays’ performance this year.
The southpaw has been absolutely stellar for them in his first two seasons in the Big Leagues, winning at least 10 games in each of them.
Dark Horse
Framber Valdez (+1600) | Houston Astros
With Verlander leaving the Astros, Dominican Valdez will take on the role of ace in the rotation of the current champions. This could help him boost his stats even more on the mound.
The lefty has shown his talent in the past two seasons, and last year he shone brightly, finishing as the American League leader in innings pitched and coming close to Verlander in wins with 17. He also threw three complete games, one of them being a shutout.
