Betting on the Milwaukee Bucks
- Regular Season Record: 29-16
The Milwaukee Bucks have had to deal with the absence of their megastar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, in their last two games; however, to their delight, they have managed to come out on top in each of those matches. Thus, they remain second in the East and 4.5 games behind the top, still occupied by the Boston Celtics.
Jrue Holiday has been the one to carry the team on his shoulders to lead the Bucks immediately after the Greek’s absence, scoring 35 and 37 points in those two games. The last game was against the Toronto Raptors, which the Bucks won by a score of 122-130, in which Grayson Allen was the team’s second leading scorer with 25 points.
While they have been able to hold steady on offense without Antetokounmpo, the same could not be said for their defense, which has allowed more than 115 points in each game. Besides, going on the road won’t help them improve much, considering they have an 11-11 record with an average of just 106.7 points scored per game.
Betting on the Cleveland Cavaliers
- Regular Season Record: 28-18
Like the visiting team, the Cleveland Cavaliers have recently had to deal with the physical problems of their main star, Donovan Mitchell, who is the team’s offensive leader with 28.4 points scored per game. And, although they have also had a good response to that absence, the results have not been the most positive of all.
The Cavaliers have struggled mightily on offense this campaign, so Mitchell going down would be a very big absence in their plans. However, being at home could be a breath of fresh air for them, given that it is at home where they have recorded 19 of their 28 victories and have given up a decent average of 113.9 points scored per game.
JefeBet Prediction
The Bucks will come into this matchup on three days’ rest, and while Antetokounmpo could be out once again, it would give him a chance to reenergize. In addition, their defense has looked very solid when they have had those types of breaks, averaging just 93.5 points allowed per game.
Meanwhile, even though the Cavaliers will have to face this game after playing the night before, this will not cause them much discomfort, given that they have a 4-2 record in these conditions and their defense has allowed an average of 104.8 points on the road, covering the Under in four of those games.
With both teams having things go in their favor to remain stout on defense and considering the Bucks’ home offensive woes, we expect this to be a close game with few points on the scoreboard.
Prediction: Under.
