Betting on the Boston Celtics
- Regular Season Record: 57-25
After shooting poorly in the first three games of the 2023 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics are finally seeing their shots, particularly from deep, falling. Boston hit 18 3-pointers in their win in Game 4 when the Celtics avoided a sweep and then drilled 16 3-pointers in their 110-97 home win in Game 6.
The Celtics are now clearly in a groove and playing so much closer to their real potential compared to their performances in the early goings of this series, and that’s bad news for Miami. One injury concern for the Celtics heading to Game 6 is that of Malcolm Brogdon, who played in only eight minutes in Game 5 before leaving the floor due to a right forearm injury. The Celtics are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 road games in which they faced a team with a winning home record.
Betting on the Miami Heat
- Regular Season Record: 44-38
The important thing for the Heat right now is for them to keep their composure. They probably had expected Boston to push back this hard, but the Heat will now have to hit back harder in order to complete the job. Bam Adebayo led the Heat in Game 5 with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Jimmy Butler went 5/10 from the field.
Despite the loss, the Heat actually shot better (51.3%) than Boston (50.6%) from the floor in Game 5. It is their defense that will have to step up for Miami, which has covered the spread in seven of their last nine games as the home team. There is also hope that Gabe Vincent will be able to return to action after missing Game 5 with an ankle injury. Vincent is averaging 17.5 points on 57.9 percent shooting in the conference finals.
JefeBet Prediction
The Celtics are reminding everyone now why they are the huge favorite to win this series. Confidence is back for Boston, which will win and cover in Game 6.
Prediction: The Celtics win, 108-104.
