In a tough game against their city rivals, the Clippers got the best out of the match against the Lakers and started their season off with the right foot.
As many as six Los Angeles players scored double digits on Thursday night, including 15 from John Wall, who came off the bench in his debut with the organization. Kawhi Leonard also came off the bench after sitting out last season, as he was recovering from a knee injury, and scored 14 points in 21 minutes.
Despite the close result, the Clippers dominated over the Lakers at several parts of the game, and, at one point, they took the lead with as many as 16 points of difference. The team was outrebounded 58-38, outshot from the field and especially from long distance, where they finished 31% to 20%.
With the return of Leonard the Clippers undoubtedly obtained a great win before having to travel to Sacramento, where they have won three of their last four games.

De’Aaron Fox led the offense with 33 points in 35 minutes played, while Kevin Huerter contributed with another 23 points in Sacramento’s lost cause.
The Trail Blazers took advantage of a poor offensive performance by the Kings, as well as their defense miscues and technical fouls, to take control with less than three minutes on the game clock. Sacramento can’t afford to make the same mistakes on Saturday when they go against a team as experienced as the Clippers.
