The Clippers scored a huge 115-110 win in the desert in Game 1 to get the early 1-0 lead in this first-round series. Los Angeles isn’t going to have Paul George anytime soon, but even without him in the series opener, Kawhi Leonard was able to carry the Clippers with his 38 points.
The bench also stepped up big time for the Clippers, as they got 34 points from their relievers to just 10 points from Phoenix’s backups. Having set the tone early as a road team, the Clippers, who are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, clearly have the momentum on their side heading into Game 2.
