Betting on the Memphis Grizzlies

After getting lampooned nonstop on social media following their 117-111 overtime loss in Game 4, the Grizzlies avoided elimination and forced Game 6 by taking down the Lakers in Game 5 at home on Wednesday, 116-99. There is life in Memphis, which got 33 points from Desmond Bane in its latest win.
Bane has scored 69 points with seven 3-pointers in the last two games, and he’s expected to be a crucial figure on offense for Memphis. Ja Morant also did not look too affected by his hand issue in Game 5, as he scored 31 points on 13/26 shooting from the field. That combo of Bane and Morant is the largest thorn in the side of the Lakers, who were also limited by Memphis to only 40.2 percent shooting from the field in Game 5. The Grizzlies return to Hollywood with a 10-4-1 record against the spread in their last 15 Friday outings.
Betting on the Los Angeles Lakers

The good news for the Lakers is that they still are leading this series, three games to two. Their defeat in Game 5 was also just their fourth in their last 17 games, dating back to the regular season. In other words, the Lakers know how to respond after a loss, and their resiliency will be put to the test again this coming Friday.
Despite the loss, the Lakers must have loved the performance of Anthony Davis, who recorded a monster double-double of 31 points and 19 rebounds with two blocks, while going 14/23 from the field. Davis can be unstoppable when he’s healthy and focused. Going back home should help AD in coming up with that same level of play in Game 6. So far in the first round, Davis is averaging 21.8 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 4.2 blocks for the Lakers, who are 5-1 ATS in their last six games after a failed cover.
