Betting on the Atlanta Hawks

A salty shooting performance in Game 1 doomed Trae Young and the Hawks. Atlanta shot just 38.8 percent from the field in their 112-99 road loss in the series opener. Young struggled from the field all game long, going just 5/18 with five turnovers to finish with just 16 points. Still, Atlanta is very much capable of coming up with a more efficient offense.
There’s no way but up for this team after such a horrid offensive performance. Back in the regular season, the Hawks averaged 118.4 points per game on 48.3 percent shooting from the floor and hit 10.8 3-pointers per game. (They were just 5/29 from deep in Game 1). The Hawks simply fell flat in the first half of Game 1 but looked more energetic in the final two periods, albeit in a loss. They can build on that strong second half for a better start this Tuesday.
Betting on the Boston Celtics

The Celtics showed Atlanta right away why they’re the favorite to win this series. Jaylen Brown exploded for 29 points and 12 rebounds in the series opener, while Jayson Tatum provided 5 points and 11 rebounds. Those two are going to be huge thorns in the side of Atlanta as long as they are healthy.
Their versatility on the wings, range, and ability to crash the boards make Boston’s life so much easier. As good as Brown and Tatum have been for the Celtics, they’re not lacking support either from their teammates. In Game 1, Derrick White scored 24 points, while Robert Williams had 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Don’t sleep on Malcolm Brogdon in Game 2. He only scored five points in the series opener, but he’s a strong candidate to win the Sixth Man of the Year award for nothing.
