Betting on the Miami Heat
For the Heat, who are currently outside of the Eastern Conference play-in spots, things have not gone well. This is unexpected, even if we consider the absence of Jimmy Butler, who has been out since mid-November and still has no estimated return date.
The main reason for the Heat’s poor start to the season has been their poor performance away from home, winning just two of their ten home games. As Wednesday’s game proved, this is not the ideal scenario to change that, given that they are facing one of the best home teams in the league.
Butler’s absence has clearly had a negative impact on Florida’s offense: they are currently averaging 108.4 points per game (fourth worst in the NBA), while shooting 44.8% from the field and averaging 112.9 points allowed per game on defense.
Betting on the Boston Celtics
Things have been very different on the sidelines for the Celtics, who continue to boast the best record in the NBA after recording a fifth consecutive win, 121-134 over the Heat in their last performance, in which they had Jayson Tatum in MVP mode with 49 points, 3 assists and 11 rebounds, followed by Jaylen Brown who contributed another 26 points. Meanwhile, Malcolm Brogdon registered 21 points off the bench.
Even though it was a significant victory, the Celtics’ performance was not unexpected, especially considering how virtually unbeatable they have been at TD Garden, where they have only dropped one of their 12 home games this year.
Tatum’s great individual season has led the Celtics to be the best team in the league offensively, with an average of 121.3 points scored per game. The team’s defense, though, has been weaker than last year, with an average of 112.9 points allowed per game.
JefeBet Prediction
The Heat are not at their best, and being away is not exactly what they need right now. This is especially true against a team like the Celtics, against whom they had little success on Wednesday because their defense was unable to contain an inspired Tatum. Moreover, their offense could only function when the opposition slowed down.
For these reasons, this game looks like another ideal scenario for the Celtics to extend their good streak. Additionally, while Tatum is the main leader of the offense, the Celtics also have other very dangerous players such as Brown and Brogdon.
The difference between one team and the other at this point is too big, so we think the Celtics will have another solid showing, as in their previous two meetings with the Heat this season, and will come away with another comfortable win.
Prediction: Boston Celtics Spread.
