Betting on the Miami Heat
- Regular Season Record: 44-38
The Heat are not done shocking people. Right from the get-go of their second-round series against the Knicks, the Heat got a win and the early 1-0 lead. Jimmy Butler churned out 25 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists with two steals in 43 minutes in Game 1, while Gabe Vincent chipped in 20 points with five assists.
All but one player who played in Game 1 for Miami finished with a positive plus/minus – a great sign for the Heat. One concern for the Heat, however, heading to Game 2 is the status of Butler, who hurt his ankle in the win. Miami might elect to preserve him for Game 3 by resting the superstar in Game 2. If that is going to be the case, the Heat will need the likes of Bam Adebayo, Max Strus, and Duncan Robinson to step up. Kyle Lowry already did that in Game 1 when he came off the bench and scored 18 points, so he’s also another Heat player expected to deliver the goods this coming Tuesday.
Betting on the New York Knicks

The Knicks did not have the dream start to the second round, as they suffered a 108-101 loss at Madison Square Garden on Sunday at the hands of the Heat. New York is going to need Jalen Brunson to play a cleaner performance in Game 2 than the one he had in the series opener. Although he scored 25 points, he shot just 11/23 from the field, went 0/7 from deep, and committed five of the Knicks’ 12 turnovers.
Obi Toppin, meanwhile, started in lieu of Julius Randle and had a good showing, scoring 18 points on 7/15 shooting to go with eight rebounds. Randle sat out the series opener with a sprained ankle, but could potentially return to action in Game 2. Should he be healthy enough to play this Tuesday, that would be a big shot in the arm of the Knicks, who can certainly use his versatility against the pesky Heat. One thing that went New York’s way in Game 1 was rebounding. As expected, they won the rebounding battle, 48-39. That can continue to be the case in Game 2, especially if Randle returns.
