Predictions, Odds, and Betting Preview for the Miami Heat vs Denver Nuggets NBA Finals Game 2 on June 4, 2023

Betting on the Miami Heat (+320)
- Regular Season Record: 44-38
The Heat simply looked overmatched against Denver in Game 1. Even their best player was ineffective, as Jimmy Butler scored just 13 points on a 6/14 shooting. But if there’s one thing we know about Butler and the Heat, it’s that they are a resilient bunch. Remember, they are the No. 8 seed in the 2023 NBA Playoffs but found a way to eliminate the overall No. 1 NBA seed in the first round and the East’s No. 2 seed in the conference finals round.
Miami missed a ton of threes in Game 1 against Denver, going just 13/39 from deep, but it should get better for them. After going just 8/32 from behind the arc in their loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 4 of the ECF, the Heat shot 45.7 percent from deep the rest of the way in that series. That could happen again for them in the NBA Finals, beginning on Sunday.
Betting on the Denver Nuggets (-390)
- Regular Season Record: 53-29
Basketball is just so easy for the Nuggets, and Nikola Jokic has a lot to do with it. The Serbian big man recorded a triple-double in Game 1’s 104-93 win over the Heat, as he scored 27 points to go with 190 rebounds and 14 assists. He barely was the only one who had a great game in the series opener, with Jamal Murray making 26 points and Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. combining for 30 points.
Jokic is too big and too skilled for the Heat, and it’s hard to see Miami having success in containing Jokic for a prolonged period. Murray’s playmaking ability also is proving to be a huge problem for Miami, which just doesn’t seem to have the weapons to keep up with the Nuggets. The Nuggets shot just 8/27 from deep in Game 1 and yet came away with a double-digit victory. That says a lot about how much Denver is having its way against Miami’s defense.
JefeBet Prediction
Nikola Jokic had a triple-double in Game 1 and looked as though he barely broke a sweat. The Nuggets have control of the series and seem to have everything they need to continue hammering Miami. Taking the Nuggets to win and cover again in Game 2.
Prediction:
The Nuggets win, 115-104.
