Betting on the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets’ season is on track to be a dismal failure, as they sit second-to-last in the Eastern Conference and are on a four-game losing streak.
Steve Clifford’s team has been a real disaster on both sides of the field, not to mention their performance as visitors, as they will play their next two games, in which they have a record of 8-23, the fourth worst in the circuit.
Charlotte’s quintet is third in the league in points allowed per game at 118.6, is the fifth-worst defender in field goal shooting, seventh in long distance shots, and allows opponents 46.4 rebounds per game (the second-highest figure in the category).
In order to be able to overcome such a poor performance, the Hornets would have to have a more or less respectable offense, but that has not been the case either.
With two of their leading scorers out (LaMelo Ball and Kelly Oubre Jr.) for much of the campaign, Charlotte’s offense is the sixth-poorest in the NBA, averaging 112.0 points per contest. Plus, they have the second-lowest shooting percentage from the field (45.2%), and no one shoots worse than them from long distance (32.2%).

Despite the negative record, the Washington Wizards remain in the fight for the Play-in positions in the Eastern Conference, and after two consecutive losses, a win against Charlotte is more than mandatory to avoid losing any more ground.
As long as their dynamic trio (Kristaps Porzingis, Bradley Beal, and Kyle Kuzma) stays healthy, things will look good for Washington. The problem is that all three have matched up in fewer than 20 games this year, and that’s where the trouble comes in.
Just as the presence of their star players has been intermittent, so has been the Wizards’ performance in all facets of their game.
Offensively speaking, they are the 12th worst team in average points per game (113.3), but they are 10th in field goal shooting (48%), and rank 11th in three-point shooting (35.4%).
