The Heat are building momentum again. Following a three-game losing skid, Jimmy Butler and company have won two games in a row, beating the Dallas Mavericks at home last Saturday (129-122) and the Detroit Pistons (118-105) on the road last Tuesday.
Butler is playing incredible basketball this season, and he’s been special of late. He scored 35 points against Dallas and 27 versus Detroit. The last time the Heat were in the City of Brotherly Love, Butler had a near triple-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists to propel Miami to a 101-99 win against the Sixers on Feb. 27. Containing Joel Embiid will be a tall order for the Heat, but Miami is also second in the NBA with just 109.8 points allowed per game.

Speaking of Embiid, the Sixers star had a mammoth performance last Tuesday against the Boston Celtics. Embiid erupted for 52 points with 13 rebounds in the 103-101 Sixers win over Boston. Whether he’s going to win the MVP this season or not, Embiid is clearly among the best of the best in the league this season.
He is averaging. With James Harden and Tyrese Maxey flanking Embiid along with Tobias Harris, the Sixers are running an offense that isn’t fast but so efficient nonetheless. Philly is third in the league in adjusted offensive rating (117.9). At the same time, the Sixers are also armed with a stellar defense that consistently ranks among the best in the league. Philadelphia is third in the NBA with just 110.5 points allowed per game.
