Betting on the Brooklyn Nets
While the Nets are still working to recover from a sluggish start to the season, their outlook appears to be improving as Kevin Durant is performing at a very high level, and they are beginning to receive consistent offensive support from Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons.
It was precisely Irving who led the Nets in their previous performance on Wednesday, registering 29 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds to command a 112-98 win over the Toronto Raptors. That win also marked the Nets’ eighth game away from home in their last ten appearances, a difficult stretch of the season that could already be starting to take its toll on their physical condition.
The Nets have been much improved offensively with the return of Irving, now averaging 111.4 points scored per game. They have also started to do a decent job on defense, giving up an average of 111.1 points allowed per game and limiting their opponents to 44.0 % shooting from the field.
Betting on the Indiana Pacers
In spite of the fact that almost no one is expecting much from the Pacers this season, they have silenced many critics in the first month of play: they’ve bounced back from a sluggish start with a strong stretch in which they won seven of eight games, including a run of five straight victories.
That streak came to an end precisely in their most recent presentation, where their offense was strangely inefficient, and they ended up losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves by a score of 115-101. Myles Turner was the most outstanding player in offense with 31 points, followed by Tyrese Haliburton who contributed 10 points and 14 assists.
Despite that last performance, the Pacers have been a team to be feared on offense this season, averaging 115.9 points scored per game (sixth-best average in the league), although they have left much to be desired on defense with an average of 114.1 points allowed.
JefeBet Prediction
The Nets’ recent defensive development is undeniable, but they remain a team with some defensive weaknesses, so they will undoubtedly struggle on the road, taking on a home team with one of the league’s most dangerous offenses.
However, keep in mind that the Pacers are also not the best defensive team of all, which is extremely dangerous against a team made up of high-scoring players like Durant and Irving.
Five of the last seven meetings between these teams have covered the Over, a trend that we expect to continue here considering the offensive power and the doubts in defense that both teams have shown.
Prediction: Over.
