Betting on the New York Knicks
After a magnificent winning streak to get into the top of the Eastern Conference, the Knicks have returned to the inconsistent team of the first months of the campaign and now find themselves in a negative streak of four losses in a row in which their defense has been extremely vulnerable, allowing more than 110 points each time.
New York’s most recent result was a disappointing loss at home to the Dallas Mavericks, where they squandered a 9-point lead in the final quarter with just under a minute left on the clock to fall 121-126 in overtime.
Quentin Grimes was the Knicks’ top scorer in that game with 33 points, followed by Julius Randle who contributed another 29 points.
Away from home the Knicks have been at their best, posting an 11-7 record with an average of 113.0 points scored and 111.4 points allowed per game, however, they have lost in four of their last five visits to this venue.
Betting on the San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs’ poor campaign continues and it doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon, as they enter this game with the second-worst record in the Western Conference and just two wins in their last seven games. Being at home has not helped them either, as they have six wins and 12 losses at home.
Gregg Popovich’s team is looking to bounce back after a 114-130 thrashing by the Oklahoma City Thunder in their most recent match, in a game in which they had up to six players with 10 points or more, but only Devin Vassell managed to reach the 20-point mark.
While they have had some struggles on offense, averaging just 111.2 points scored per game, the Spurs’ big problem this campaign has been defense, as are the worst in the league in that aspect with an average of 120.5 points allowed per game, and with their opponents having a shooting percentage of 50.4 % from the field.
JefeBet Prediction
The Spurs are not usually a very productive team on offense, however, here they could have a good opportunity to redeem themselves in that area since they will be facing a Knicks that are in a turbulent moment and with many defensive problems.
However, don’t forget that the Spurs have been terrible defensively this campaign, and that the Knicks have performed well offensively, with a very active Randle who usually gets good support from his teammates, so they will probably be able to give the home team a lot of headaches.
Both teams arrive here with many shortcomings when it comes to defending on their side of the court, so we expect a game with fast transitions and with the offenses as protagonists, thus leaving a scoreboard with many points.
Prediction: Over.
