Betting on the Denver Nuggets (-155)
- Regular Season Record: 53-29
The Nuggets are back. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray wreaked havoc in Denver’s 109-94 win in Miami over the Heat in Game 3. Jokic pounded the Heat for 34 points with 21 rebounds and 10 assists. So far in the 2023 NBA Finals, Jokic is averaging 33.3 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 9.3 assists per game. Murray, on the other hand, scattered 34 points and added 10 assists in Game 3.
The former Kentucky Wildcats star is averaging, 26.0 points and 10 assists in the Finals, while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. And there seems to be a new hero starting to make his presence felt in the series for the Nuggets, as rookie Christian Braun had 15 points coming off the bench in Game 3. He could be a new real problem for Miami, which already is having so much trouble trying to check both Jokic and Murray. The Nuggets are 4-0 against the spread in their last four away games versus a team with a winning home record.
Betting on the Miami Heat (+135)
- Regular Season Record: 44-38
With only just Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler providing most of the offense in Game 3, the Heat fell prey to Denver at home. Adebayo scored 22 points with 17 rebounds, while Butler led the Heat with 28 points to go with just two rebounds and four assists. If the Heat are to beat Denver in this series, they are going to need more than just Adebayo and Butler to play at a high level.
Gabe Vincent and Max Strus who stepped up big time in Game 2 only combined for 10 points in Game 3. As a team, the Heat shot just 37 percent from the field. But one thing to like about the Heat in that game was that they turned the ball over just four times while forcing Denver to cough up the leather 13 times. They scored 14 points off of those errors by Denver, while the Nuggets only had four off of the miscues of Miami. The Heat are still looking good, covering-wise, as they are 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games at home.
JefeBet Prediction
The Nuggets have control of the series back. In Game 4, Jokic continue to dominate while both Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope become bigger factors after scoring just a total of eight points together in Game 3.
Prediction:
The Nuggets win, 114-101.
