Betting on the Denver Nuggets
- Regular Season Record: 53-29
The Nuggets dropped Game 3 of this series versus the Suns, 121-114, but there’s really not much to be overly worried about for Denver. Nikola Jokic is still a monster on the court. He even stuffed the stat sheets in Game 3 with 30 points on 11/19 shooting from the floor to go with 17 assists and 17 rebounds. Jamal Murray went 13/29 from the field for 32 points to help out Jokic.
Speaking of which, Aaron Gordon and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope combined for just 11 points on 4/17 shooting. With a short eight-game rotation in Game 3 on the road, the Nuggets should have given Murray and Jokic better support. That’s a lesson they’ll have to learn ahead of Game 4. For what it’s worth, the Nuggets are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games after suffering a defeat in the last outing.
Betting on the Phoenix Suns
- Regular Season Record: 45-37
There is life in Phoenix. The Suns finally got in the win column in the second round despite not having Chris Paul, thanks to the tandem of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Durant scored 39 points with nine rebounds and eight assists plus two blocks in Game 3, while Booker went nuclear with 47 points on 20/25 shooting from the floor.
With the way the series is going, the Suns need Durant and Booker to take over on offense all the time. That being said, the Suns got some surprise clutch contributions from TJ Warren, who’s become a forgotten man on the bench for Phoenix but has found relevance with Paul sidelined with a groin injury. Warren scored seven points, including dagger buckets while also being a plus-20 in Game 3. He needs to get more minutes, especially with Paul not expected to play for at least two more games.
JefeBet Prediction
It seems that Jokic has broken Deandre Ayton. As good as Durant and Booker are, they’re unlikely to continue scoring 80 points together to make up for the absence of Paul and the poor performance of Ayton in the series. Taking the Nuggets to win Game 4.
Prediction: The Nuggets win, 119-114.
