It has simply been too easy for the Nuggets in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoff so far, After munching on Minnesota in Game 1, 109-80, the Nuggets crushed the Timberwolves again in Game 2 Wednesday, 122-113. Jamal Murray exploded for 40 points in Game 2 after pacing the Nuggets with 24 points in the series opener. He’s getting scarier each game, and he’s probably just starting. Plus, he’s just not the only big problem for Minnesota.
Nikola Jokic has also been a marvel to watch in this series with his incredible ability to dissect Minnesota’s defense. He is comically great at finding his teammates, as he’s averaging 7.5 assists while also putting up 15.5 points on 51.6 percent shooting in the first round. The Nuggets are humming and perhaps a change of location won’t change their form. They are also 23-7-1 ATS in their last 31 trips to Minnesota.
Betting on the Minnesota Timberwolves

Anthony Edwards exploded for 41 points in Game 2, thus showing signs of life in Minnesota. However, there was barely any help he received from the other Timberwolves stars. Rudy Gobert scored 19 points on 7/11 shooting while Mike Conley Jr. chipped in 14 points and seven assists, but Karl-Anthony Towns couldn’t deliver the goods, finishing with only 10 points on a horrid 3/12 shooting from the floor.
Edwards also played poorly in the series opener before going off last Wednesday. That’s a trend Minnesota hopes to see from Towns in Game 3 at home. Speaking of which, Edwards averaged 25.9 points on 45.4 FG% in the Twin Cities back in the regular season, while Towns put up 21.3 points on 49.5 FG%. It should be better for Minnesota in Game 4, as it plays in front of its home crowd. The Timberwolves are 2-0 ATS in their last two home games.
