Betting on the San Antonio Spurs
While not much was expected of the Spurs this season, their performance has been far worse than anyone imagined, coming in here after snapping a long streak of 12 consecutive losses and earning just their seventh win of the campaign.
That victory came against another poor team like the Houston Rockets, where they managed to recover from a poor first half to win by a score of 109-118, with Keldon Johnson being the team’s top scorer with 32 points.
San Antonio has been a terrible defensive unit all year long, so no wonder they are the worst team in the league in that regard with an average of 121.3 points allowed per game.The team also allowed its opponents to score 50.8 % of their shots from the field. Injuries have also affected the team’s performance on offense, now averaging 109.5 points per game.
Betting on the Miami Heat
Although it has not been as bad as the Spurs’, the Heat’s year has been quite complicated, struggling with constant injuries to important players that have prevented them from consolidating as expected.
That said, the Heat have been slowly recovering some pieces, such as Jimmy Butler, who is not at 100%, but can already play games, something that will be key for the team to improve its offensive performance.They are third worst in the league on offense with an average of 108.3 points scored per game, although they have done decently on defense, averaging 110.2 points allowed.
A much more competitive Heat could already be seen last Friday, when they defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 110-115, thanks to a very good performance by Ban Adebayo who scored 31 points, while Butler contributed 26 points and 8 assists.
