Betting on the Minnesota Timberwolves
- Regular Season Record: 42-40
The Timberwolves are joining the 2023 NBA Playoffs after all. After losing to the Los Angeles Lakers last Tuesday, 108-102 (OT), the Timberwolves ended the playoff dreams of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the battle for the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 120-95 victory at home Friday night.
The return of Rudy Gobert to Minnesota’s active lineup gave his team a major boost in the OKC game as he had 21 points and 10 rebounds. Karl-Anthony Towns, meanwhile, had 29 points and 11 rebounds plus three blocks. Minnesota’s much-maligned Twin Tower combo of Gobert and Towns can be a huge thorn in the side of Denver. With Gobert, the T’wolves have an elite big man to help contain Nikola Jokic, while Towns’ ability to stretch the floor can expose the MVP frontrunner’s shortcomings on defense.
Betting on the Denver Nuggets
- Regular Season Record: 53-29
Unlike the Timberwolves, the Nuggets are enjoying a long rest. Their bodies should be very fresh when they take on Minnesota this coming Sunday. Plus, the Nuggets have the homecourt advantage in this series. Speaking of which, Denver has covered the spread in five of its last seven games after getting rested for at least three days.
In addition to that, the Nuggets are 18-8 against the spread in their last 26 games as the home team. Jokic just finished a historically great regular season during which he put up averages of 24.5 points on 63.2 percent shooting from the floor, 11.8 rebounds, and 9.8 assists per game. With Jokic as the focal point of Denver’s offense, the Nuggets concluded the regular season fifth in the NBA with 116.9 points per 100 possessions adjusted and No. 1 with a 57.3 eFG%.
JefeBet Prediction
