Betting on the Minnesota Timberwolves

  • Regular Season Record: 40-40

The Timberwolves are coming off a 107-102 win over the Brooklyn Nets last Tuesday, thus snapping a three-game losing skid. That was a much-needed victory for Minnesota, as a loss would have put them in a more dangerous position, especially with all the jostling in the Western Conference standings.

Another good news for Minnesota is that it’s going to face next a San Antonio squad that has long checked out. The Timberwolves should be able to carve up the Spurs’ defense which is the worst in the NBA in terms of points allowed per game, with San Antonio surrendering 122.7 points per contest. Conversely, Minnesota is 13th in the NBA with 115.4 points per game to go with a 49.0 percent shooting from the field – top-five in the league.

Betting on the San Antonio Spurs

  • Regular Season Record: 21-59

San Antonio has a shot of winning consecutive games just before the end of the regular season. The Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers at home last Thursday, 129-12. Keita Bates-Diop led the Spurs in that game with 25 points, while Keldon Johnson and Julian Champagnie each chipped in 24 points.

Although they have lost a ton this season, the Spurs are showing some fight of late, as they have won two of their last three games. The other win was a stunning 142-134 overtime victory on the road against the Sacramento Kings. The return of Johnson after his absence due to injury has given the Spurs a boost, as evidenced by their win in the Portland game. Meanwhile, Malaki Branham has averaged 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in the last three San Antonio outings.

JefeBet Prediction

Since the start of 2023, the Spurs have won back-to-back games just once. That’s not going to happen this weekend. Taking the Timberwolves to win comfortably.
Prediction: The Timberwolves win, 131-117.
