Betting on the Baylor Bears
- Regular Season Record: 22-9
Baylor got tripped up by the Cyclones last Saturday in Waco, 73-58, thus taking away much of the Bears’ momentum that it built when the team won back-to-back games prior. Before that defeat to the Cyclones, the Bears defeated the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the strength of a balanced offense and defense.
The Bears just did not seem to have it against Iowa State, but that’s not a reason to be discouraged by Baylor’s chances to beat Iowa State in the Big 12 tournament and that will mostly depend on the Bears’ offense. Despite their losses this season to Iowa State, the Bears are still top five nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency and are always deadly from behind the arc. The Bears have hit at least 10 3-pointers in six of their last seven games. Baylor is also 6-4 ATS in its last 10 outings.
Betting on the Iowa State Cyclones

Thanks to their win against Baylor, the Cyclones successfully ended a slump. Before the win over the Bears, Iowa State lost four games in a row but those were mostly games against March Madness-bound teams. Plus, again, Iowa State has two wins this season already versus the Bears and both were in convincing fashion.
Those wins against Baylor go a long way in proving that Iowa State has the Bears’ number this season, but if you’re looking for a deeper explanation for that, it’s because of the Cyclones’ defense. The Bears shot 42.5 eFG% and 45.3 eFG% in the two meetings this season with Iowa State, which is top 10 in the nation in adjusted defensive efficiency.
The Cyclones also entered the most recent showdown against Baylor ranked 15th in Division I basketball with just an average of 62.2 points allowed per contest. Iowa State is 6-0 ATS in its last six games against Baylor.
