Betting on the Clemson Tigers
- Regular Season Record: 21-8
Clemson looked like it was a lock to make the NCAA tournament when it started ACC play with a 10-1 conference record, but a bunch of losses since has put the Tigers on shaky ground. However, Clemson is seemingly gaining ground again, as the Tigers have won two games in a row heading to Tuesday’s meeting with the Cavaliers.
In their last game, the Tigers brought down the NC State Wolfpack on the road, 96-71. Before that, Clemson trampled the Syracuse Orange in a 91-73 home win. Clemson’s mojo is back, and that’s not good news for the suddenly struggling Virginia side, which will deal with a Tigers unit that has scored at least 90 points in three of their last four games. Clemson is 3-1 against the spread in its last four contests.
Betting on the Virginia Cavaliers
- Regular Season Record: 21-6
After going 13-3 in their first 16 games in ACC action, the Hoos have floundered with back-to-back losses to the Boston College Eagles (63-48) and to the North Carolina Tar Heels (71-63). Both those losses were on the road, so perhaps a return to Charlottesville could be the cure to the illness that has slowed down Tony Bennett’s boys.
Virginia has won 13 of 14 games at home, thus far in the 2022-23 college basketball season. The last time they were at home,m the Hoos defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Feb. 18. Despite their recent struggles, the Cavaliers are not going to lose faith in their defense that remains No. 1 in the ACC in adjusted defensive efficiency. Virginia has also won nine of its last 10 games (6-4 ATS) against the Tigers, dating back to 2016.
JefeBet Prediction
Virginia wakes up and suffocates the Tigers’ offense, and scores a win at home.
Prediction: Virginia wins by no more than 7 points.
