Betting on the Florida Atlantic Owls

  • Regular Season Record: 34-3

Florida Atlantic is still standing, as the Owls have pulled off yet another stunner in the 2023 NCAA tournament. In the Sweet 16 round, Florida Atlantic embarrassed Rick Barnes’ Tennessee Volunteers in a 62-55 upset victory Thursday night. The Owls surprisingly survived Tennessee’s vaunted defense which was regarded as one of the best – if not the best – in college basketball this season.

Johnell Davis stepped up once again for the Owls, finishing with 15 points with a 9/10 shooting line from the charity stripe. Just being aggressive and getting shots from the foul line paid huge dividends for the Owls, who can see even more chances at the foul line this coming Saturday against a Kansas State team that is committing a total of 17.6 personal fouls per game and had just got called for 24 personal fouls in the Sweet 16 round.

Betting on the Kansas State Wildcats

  • Regular Season Record: 26-9

Kansas State is not ready to go home just yet. The Wildcats extended their stay in the 2023 NCAA tournament with a 98-93 overtime win on Thursday over the Michigan State Spartans to advance to the Elite Eight round. The littlest man on Kansas State’s roster played the biggest game for the Wildcats in that game, as Markquis Nowell scored 20 points and set a new NCAA tournament record with 19 assists.

As a team. Kansas State shot 55.5 percent from the field and had 11 made 3-pointers on 24 attempts from deep. Nowell and Keyontae Johnson present a tough problem for Florida Atlantic, as they are both quick with the ball and excellent playmakers in the perimeter and when attacking the basket. Look for Kansas State to take advantage of FAU’s suspect interior defense and weak rim protection.

JefeBet Prediction

Florida Atlantic keeps on finding ways to win and they might have the answer again in the Elite Eight round. Dusty May has shown great coaching chops and has the Owls believing they can keep up against any team. Taking the Owls to cover.

Prediction: Florida Atlantic wins, 77-75.
