Betting on the Gonzaga Bulldogs
- Regular Season Record: 17-4
Gonzaga got back on track after a shocking loss to the Loyola Marymount Lions on Jan. 19 in Spokane. Right after that, the Bulldogs defeated the Pacific Tigers on the road, 99-90. The Bulldogs remain a one-loss team in the WCC, and that’s important for Gonzaga because it can’t afford to lose to another team from the conference if it still harbors any hopes of making it to the NCAA Tournament as a #1 seed.
Drew Timme will take charge once again for Gonzaga this Saturday. He had 18 points and seven rebounds when Gonzaga thumped the Pilots on Jan. 14 at home, 115-75. Timme leads the Bulldogs this season with 22.0 points per game. Gonzaga is No. 1 in Division I with 84.9 points per outing.
Gonzaga is 8-2 SU in its last 10 games on the road.
Betting on the Portland Pilots
- Regular Season Record: 11-12
The Pilots failed to have liftoff Thursday, as they lost to Loyola Marymount on the road, 79-60. Instead of a three-game win streak, Portland is now trying to pick up the pieces from a crushing loss at the hand of the Lions. It was also the fifth loss in conference play for Portland, which entered that game averaging 76.0 points per game on 45.5 FG%.
Portland struggled mightily on both ends of the floor versus Loyola Marymount, though leading scorer Moses Wood still managed to come away with 15 points. Meanwhile, Tyler Robertson, who started Thursday averaging 14.2 PPG only had six points. He could be due for a bounceback versus Gonzaga, which had just nearly allowed 100 points to Pacific.
JefeBet Prediction
Gonzaga is back in the win column but it can’t be too happy about its win against Pacific, as the Bulldogs were expected by many to edge the Tigers by more than just nine points. It’s time for Gonzaga to make a big statement. Taking Gonzaga to win big versus Portland.
Prediction: Gonzaga wins by at least 20 points.
